Terms and Conditions

Last Updated: August 18, 2026

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the OneTap Checkout platform, application, and related services (collectively, the "Services"). By installing our application, integrating it with your store, or checking out as an end-customer, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptable Use and Account Creation

A. Merchant Accounts

  • To use our Services, you must install the OneTap Checkout application on a valid Shopify store. You must maintain updated payment gateway configurations (e.g. Razorpay credentials).
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your API keys, credentials, and webhook endpoints.
  • You must not use the application for any illegal or unauthorized activities, including fraudulent order creation or spamming customers with SMS OTPs.

B. End-Customer (Shopper) Use

  • Shoppers use OneTap Checkout to purchase goods from Merchants. By using the checkout page, you agree to provide truthful delivery addresses, contact details, and payment information.
  • We use SMS verification (One-Time Password) to authenticate your phone number. You agree to receive transactional text messages related to your checkouts.

2. Payments, Billing, and Fees

OneTap Checkout is currently provided free of charge. There are no subscription fees, transaction fees, or commissions charged by OneTap Checkout at this time. We reserve the right to introduce paid plans in the future with prior written notice to active merchants.

OneTap Checkout integrates with third-party payment gateways (such as Razorpay) using credentials provided solely by the merchant. OneTap Checkout does not process, hold, receive, or have access to any customer payment funds. All payment processing, associated transaction fees, refunds, cancellations, and disputes are handled directly between the merchant, their customers, and their chosen payment gateway. OneTap Checkout bears no liability for payment gateway errors, transaction declines, or bank disputes.

3. Platform Limitations and Shopify Integration

OneTap Checkout utilizes the Shopify GraphQL and REST Admin APIs to create draft orders, update inventory, read variants, and convert checkouts to completed orders.

We do not guarantee 100% uptime of the checkout platform. We are not liable for sales loss or business disruptions caused by Shopify API outages, theme incompatibilities, or system-wide internet connectivity failures. We reserve the right to suspend app access or revoke store tokens if a store is found in violation of Shopify's Acceptable Use Policy.

4. Security, Cryptography, and Data Storage

Store access tokens and refresh tokens are encrypted using AES-256-GCM. We maintain strict safeguards against SQL injection, CSRF (Cross-Site Request Forgery), and domain hijacking. If an access/refresh token expires or is manually revoked, the app will transition to a REAUTHORIZATION_REQUIRED state, and you must reconnect your store to resume services.

5. Intellectual Property Rights

OneTap Checkout retains all rights, titles, and interests in the checkout application source code, designs, brand assets, checkout themes, templates, and script tag code. You are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on your Shopify store for as long as your account remains active and in good standing with these Terms.

6. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ONETAP CHECKOUT AND ITS DEVELOPERS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO: LOSS OF PROFITS, SALES, REVENUE, OR DATA; PLATFORM DOWNTIME; SECURITY BREACHES OR ATTACKS BEYOND OUR REASONABLE CRYPTOGRAPHIC CONTROL.

7. Termination and Data Retention

You can terminate these Terms at any time by uninstalling the OneTap Checkout application from your Shopify Admin. Upon uninstallation or account deletion, all active database API tokens are revoked, store access is disabled, and unique constraints (such as email and shop domain) are released immediately.

To prevent accidental data loss and facilitate recovery, we retain a secure backup of your merchant settings, order logs, and transaction details for a grace period of up to 90 days. After this grace period expires, all associated data is permanently and irreversibly purged from our database.

8. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any legal actions or disputes must be filed in the competent courts located in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.
